MAC cosmetics are some of the most popular among what you might call true 'fashionistas'. As the line was originally available to professionals only, it does have the reputation for being a makeup line that is superior to most of the 'drug store' brands (which may or may not be true but it is certainly the perception most people have.)
One of the newer offerings available from MAC is their Mineralize line, a line of mineral makeup offering a foundation alternative, blushes and eyeshadows. The MAC Mineralize Kit, which is available as a free cosmetic sample by mail, is a great introduction to this line of mineral cosmetics, as it features all three products in a single kit.
How to Apply Mineral Makeup
Once you have received your free sample makeup MAC Mineralize Kit, you will find that there is a certain procedure that should be followed when applying the products in order for them to look as good as they are designed to. The kit does come with the special kabuki brush you need to use the cosmetics properly; you just have to master the simple learning curve that comes along with its use.To apply the mineral foundation you should always begin with a freshly cleansed and moisturized face. Dip the kabuki brush (which is shorter and deeper than a regular blush brush) into the mineral compound. Next, push the brush's bristles gently against the back of one of your hands to help disperse the powder into the brush. Tap away any excess.
Now begin applying the powder in a continuous circular motion, from the t zone outwards, almost like you are polishing your face. This produces the even color and finish that mineral foundations have become so well known for.
The process is similar for applying the blush, which in the MAC Mineralize Kit comes in a delicate pink shade that will adapt to flatter almost any skin tone perfectly as its ability to adapt to an individual's unique skin tone is another great advantage of mineral make up. Finally the eyeshadow is applied with a smaller, finer brush that is specially designed to help the minerals adhere gently to the delicate skin of the eyelids. The finished look is one that is polished and almost flawless and yet looks very natural, a very desirable look indeed!
